The people behind Royalnovaarenaignition’s war room
Royalnovaarenaignition began as a shared spreadsheet among friends who kept losing provinces to each other. We were arguing about which browser strategy games were worth the commitment, and realised most reviews were written after an hour of play, before a single neighbour had attacked. That felt like reviewing a novel from its first page.
So we started playing properly. Every game on this site is played through real rounds on public worlds, with time diaries, notes on rivals and records of what happened when we missed a day. We play without spending, so we can tell you honestly where a free player stands, and we revisit games when they change enough to matter.
Our focus is narrow on purpose: war strategy and empire builders, from Second World War fronts to medieval castles and Norse strongholds. Within that niche we care about depth, fairness, rhythm and community, the four things that decide whether a strategy game earns a place in your week.
We are based in the UK, and our evenings are spread across the usual mix of work, family and too many open tabs. That shapes our reviews, because we judge every game by how it fits a real life, not just by how impressive its map looks on a quiet afternoon.
Rounds before verdicts
We do not score a strategy game until we have lived through its middle weeks, met real rivals and seen how it treats a player who misses a day.
Free path first
Every review is written from the perspective of a player who does not spend, so our fairness scores reflect what you will actually experience.
Rhythm is a feature
How a game fits your week matters as much as its depth, so every card tells you plainly what a normal week of play really asks.
